Vizio brand HDTV - love or hate?

Post by skyknight »

OK,

in the last couple of weeks I have notice a Vizio 26" HDTV with LED LCD screen that has been on sale on major sites for under USD $200. I am tempted to buy one, as my bro recently "hand me up" his crappy TruTech 19" TV that he got several years ago on Target's Black Friday.

How many here have a Vizio brand TV in their living room or gaming room? And what do you like about it?

Son has a 32" Vizio. Great with PS3 HDMI, pure crap for PS2 and older Retro consoles. Yes the PS2 was even hooked up with component, the dreaded dot crawl of LCDs.

I've never had a vizio, but from what ive read they can have some atrocious lag even in native resolution. Just look up the model number to see if test have been done on it.

Neither. I just won't skimp on quality where it counts. I've heard nothing good in terms of performance about them and from what I saw at Costco a few years ago, I'm not missing anything much.

I've got a Vizio and it has been a great tv. Maybe I'm just not picky but the picture has been pretty good with standard def too. If you are in the market for a $200 tv you would be hard pressed to get a better brand. Of course $700-1000 will get you a better unit but isn't that always the case?

Bottom line: If you are in the market for budget LCD then Vizio is a solid choice. LG is a nice little step up while still remaining affordable as well.

I have a Vizio 32" LCD, and it's great. DVDs and HD videos via my laptop's VGA connection look very nice, and the video on my retro systems don't look that bad at all.

If anything, it's much better than the RCA HDTV I had previously - a few of the display chips burned out after less than a year and made the screen black out!

I've had a 50" Vizio plasma for about 2 years now. I can't complain at all...it's been a great tv and I'd recommend them to anyone.
