Will Japanese version of Dark Savior work on US Saturn?

Post by Caleb »

I know that some Saturn games are compatible with both US AND JAP Saturn consoles.

I *think* that the US version of Dark Savior will play in a JAP Saturn.

Will a JAP copy of Dark Savior Work in US Saturn?

Is there a list somewhere?

Thanks

I don't know but you should really get an Action Replay (or chip it) for imports.

If the game does not match up to the region of the machine they won't play at all. So unless you put a region switch into your saturn or get an action replay (and apparently the action replay doesn't work for some games, but it's very few games that don't work) they won't work, they only way you'll get it to work is if you rip the game to iso, patch the iso with Saturn Region Patcher to your region and then burn the disk. However it all depends what the region the disk is set to, there's quite a few different region codes that the games can be.

Yeah I am planning to get a converter cart as soon as I can find one.

It's just I read this on the Sega Saturn Wiki:

"There were some titles that could be played on both U.S. and Japanese consoles. Street Fighter Alpha 2 was one of the titles that could be played on both regions systems without a converter."

I don't know if that's true but I did find lists on other sites of Saturn games that people claim DON'T NEED any region conversion at all.

Dark Savior was supposed to be one of them.

I don't know the validity of the claims at all.

The only thing i can suggest is go for it, dark saviour is a pretty cool game so it might be good just having it anyway, if it doesn't play then you can always just copy, patch and burn to play it and use the swap trick to play.

Or wait until I get a converter cart from someplace.

Correct me if I am wrong but there was a US release...But I can't find that ANYWHERE. (for a decent price)

Thanks!
