so snagged some component and composite cables for my the psp 3000 i just picked up. I got them on amazon and when they arrived i just noticed something. It says on the package of both 'for use with psp 2000 model only!'
well.. wtf? they were the only ones that came up when i searched for component cables. This is the one:
Whats the deal? Will they work properly with the psp 3000? Its the only one amazon seems to list. Even if they do work, do they work right? I find it weird the package says psp 2k only. Isn't there one for the psp 3000?
Im wondering if i should send them back to amazon, but im not sure where else to snag these. I checked sony's official site and the packaging looks gold for the psp 3000 one
Same question for the composite cable btw. Hopefully someone knows about these things. The price was right for them but if they dont work or dont work as well as the other cables, then i better get the right ones. I found some people saying it outputs in a window or something with these cables. I dont know if thats the norm
PSP component cables?
Re: PSP component cables?
Its probably because when those cables were released the 3K wasn't out yet. And since the 1K didn't have video out they would have only worked on the 2K at the time. I'm sure the cables will work fine on the 3K.

Re: PSP component cables?
that was my guess. But i was wondering if there was any change to them in the 3k version. The packaging i think is different at least judging from the sony site. I dont know if the conector is any different, and allows full screen gaming, or anything like that
Re: PSP component cables?
If the 2K composite cables don't work for you, I might be interested in them
Re: PSP component cables?
They work fine. I use a set that I bought when my 2000 was new. I think pretty much everything that works with the 2000 will work with the 3000. Now the Go uses totally different cables than the 2000/3000 which was a terrible decision.

Re: PSP component cables?
Stupid Question: Do the composite cables video output at full screen, or does it still only fill a small section of the tv like the component cables? If so, is there any way to change the video output in the PSP menu to 4:3?
