I preordered the LE from playasia and cannnot wait for the game to reach my doorstep. I am even more excited for the muchi/sweets combo coming soon. I cannot believe how much support the xbox is receiving from Cave.

I should have it by Monday or Tuesday (Got an LE copy for free! Thanks Amazon Japan points!), but I will be too busy with GT5!

Fuck Cave.
Region locking and "This is only for Japan" shit is some good old-fashioned elitist thinking and not cool.
I mean DeathSmiles here in the US sold more than triple that of it's Japanese counterpart and when you add in both Mushi and ESP II Cave made more money than they ever have on those three games alone than their entire back catalog combined.
Here's hoping Aksys saves it from the chopping block in the US.

I would be excited but region locking is really frustrating me latley. Just enough shmups are region free or PAL for me to not go the whole hog and buy a Japanese 360, yet still enough are that it tempts me.
Honestly from a buisiness(spelling?) point of view how on earth does region locking help. I understand that you dont want people importing a cheaper copy from abroad than surpport their local version, but when it comes to shmups its hardly like cave is some international developer. Not to mention that they dont need any extra effort in say a translation as look at Mushihimesama Futari, successfull and very much in japanese style and language.
Just dawned on me though. Do game developers/publishers have to pay a lisence to make a game region free?

I think that DeathSmiles selling well is a disincentive to them making their other games region-free.Mod_Man_Extreme wrote:Fuck Cave.

It's got nothing to do with elitism, it's just that from their region-free tests with Mushihime-sama Futari 1.5 and ESPgaluda II it's obviously not worth the extra cost to Cave. If some publisher wants to purchase the rights to publish the game in the west down the line, it's a win-win for Cave.Mod_Man_Extreme wrote:Fuck Cave.

No, but they do have to pay out to submit their game for approval in all 3 major regions - for a small developer like Cave, this isn't entirely feasible and is probably the main reason why the most recent Cave games aren't region free (although I guess higher sales of ESPgaluda II & Mushihime-sama would have helped too).Frizz.Meister wrote:Just dawned on me though. Dude, Mushi, ESP and DS combined made more money than Cave's ENTIRE backlog. There is no real question here.Bootaaay wrote:It's got nothing to do with elitism, it's just that from their region-free tests with Mushihime-sama Futari 1.5 and ESPgaluda II it's obviously not worth the extra cost to Cave. Re: Dodonpachi Daifukkatsu comes out tomorrow anyone picking up?
I have been cracking out on 1.51 version. Keep getting to Stage 5 on 1 cred. And the whole time I thought the Ipad version was easy or am I just that good at shmups?
Anyone else find this game easier then the other Dodonpachi's?
