Twinstick without expense or mod - A simple Menu Setup
An undocumented feature via Two Player controllers

PS1 allowed custom controls in the Arcade Classics series. Player two controller can be customized to work with player one. Robotron Player 1 can control movement and Player two can fire. Now if two Arcade digital sticks are plugged in, the player two stick can be made as the directional fire buttons. See where I am leading? Single player now has Dual Stick control just like the original Arcade! When I first discovered this I was truly back in Twin Stick heaven! Notice there are no hardware mods, just configurations in the game menu.

Fully customizable controllers and Arcade Dip Switches for lives and difficulty, Unlike the newer console Arcade Treasures compilation releases.

I found Suikoden II strategy guide at my local Half Price books for $7.50... consider me lucky :D I also found a Pikmin 2 strategy guide there. I was like you for a long time, I grew up with N64 and I love it for its game and characters; slowly I got into PS1 and it has its own unique games (and tons of RPGs).

Damn, The Misadventures of Tron Bonne is an EXPENSIVE game. It looks like a lot of fun, though. I'm sure it's worth the wait of searching.

You will find the world of PS1 collecting to be much more pricey than the world of Gamecube collecting.

I'm starting to realize that; some of the most expensive games for the Gamecube is still just around $50. But, that's probably just because the 'Cube is at the end of its Gamestop selling life, which is where the games are likely the cheapest they will ever be. I expect games for the system to rise in price after they are taken out of major game stores like Gamestop. Because of this, I'm glad I already have a sizable GC collection already.

Is the PSOne more reliable than the original models? I always wondered ifone was preferable to the other.

Anyhow, I have a pretty rediculous list of games i'd be interested in buying for basically every console, so I'll share some of my PS1 list here. ATM I only own Final Fantasy 7,8 & 9, so I have a lot still to go...

bishi bashi
Crash bandicoot 1-3
dead or alive
discworld noir
fear effect
grandia
incredible crisis
intelligent qube
klonoa
koudelka
Legend of legaia
oddworld
parappa the rapper
Poy poy -Kind of a fighting game. A bit like PowerStone.
sheep
sheep dog n wolf
skullmonkeys
sol divide
spyro 1-3
strider 2
tactics ogre -SRPG
tail concerto
tekken 1-3
um jammer lammy
vanark
vandal hearts - SRPG
Vib Ribbon
wild 9
tales of eternia
no one can stop mr domino
wild arms
ape escape
bushido blade - Weird fighter where one hit normally kills your opponent. Hard to learn, but well done from what I've heard.
devil dice
einhander
FF Tactics - Obvious SRPG
megaman 8
rival schools
soul blade
r types
g darius

You said you like RPGs so I've bolded those, and the fighters too. I realise this list is a bit ridiculous, but I couldnt bring myself to remove most of the games from the list...

Also Rakugaki Showtime looks like an amazing arena fighter, but good luck finding it for any sort of reasonable price.

Oh, I forgot about Ergheiz and Tobal No. 1/2. Squaresoft did quite a few non RPG games back on the PS1 huh?

I just picked up a couple PS1 games for ~$30 yesterday:

Tekken 2
Incredible Crisis
Blaster Master: Blasting Again
Rayman
Gran Turismo 2
Ridge Racer
One
MDK

Not a fantastic deal, but not bad, either.

Some great games there! Any of them longbox versions?

FYI, I wrote up an article on Ridge Racer recently: http://www.rfgeneration.com/news/ridge- ... 5-1432.php

Also FYI, there will be a lot of PS1 games in the charity auction that starts later this week :)

Nah, the only longbox games I have are Street Fighter Alpha and Viewpoint. I have to admit, the LB games look cool, despite them seeming to have text printed in the reverse direction as opposed to other game cases. That was kind of an odd design choice.
