Well I'm glad you like the game man. I was just expecting much more than this is all. After playing it more today and really testing the collision in the game, I noticed one thing that really bothered me. When you hit another car or wall you never really hit them. Theres a small gap and no audible sign that you actually hit something. All you do is numbly bounce off the wall like the car and object is made of rubber. For a REAL driving simulator, the crashes sure looks and sounds fake to me. It just took the realism out of the game for me. And when you watch a race, aren't the cool crashes half the fun?
It really depends on the type of racing you are into. Nascar is famous for their crashes but Indy, Le Mans and Cart Racing doesn't have as many crashes as you think... If you want awesome crashes, you should play
Race 07... rFactor is good as well, but the crashes seem more like burnout crashes ..
It should be a disappointment to those that are fans.
I remember hearing everything under the sun about how great this game is going to be in terms of graphics and gameplay over Forza.
However being more of a fan of Arcade type racers to me Forza 3 and GT5 are extremely similar only hardcore fans of either would notice much difference in the two in how they play to me they are both the same game on their respective platforms.
Personally I was all played out in Gran Turismo 1, Missed out number 2 and Dabbled in 3 and couldn't get into 4.
well...I bought it and put it in about 7PM yesterday, played til 4AM thumb sore as hell.
I think it's great. the '76 golf I bought looks just like my '77 rabbit I used to own in college. I haven't played much GT since GT2 and I am rusty. but this is either more forgiving or I'm not as rusty as I thought I'd be. but it's fun as hell.
got a bunch of my mp3's playing for BGM, my PSP cars transferred....wish I could transfer my cars and money from all earlier games, I do own 3&4 but haven't ever found much time to play them.
I very rarely buy a game new and I did this time. I think I'll get my moneys worth of entertainment out of it.
the lack of damage doesn't bother me, if I want damage I'll play Grid.
was it worth the wait ? I dunno, it's not like I was waiting each day of those 4-6 years...just something I was looking forward to in the background somewhere.
Am I the only one that actually likes a lot of the menu music? I know the racing music is mediocre and I go with what's on my HDD but I find the menu music to be pretty relaxing, and a good mix of trance and jazz..
