Stalker - Shadows of Chernobyl ending discussion

Post by Hobie-wan »

So yeah... spoilers

So I'm curious what endings people have gotten as I've just finished the game over the past few days. I've played through both true endings (first) and the bad 'greedy' ending as I have a crapload of cash from doing dons of missions. Reading over all the possible endings I find it interesting that a completist like me is punished with the the greedy ending if I foolishly use the wish granter simply because I collected a lot money while exploring every inch of territory and doing lots of quests.

I went to the WishGranter and got the wish for power ending. I was fucking pissed off. I used a game trainer to get some of the other WishGranter endings.

If it makes you feel better, I just started playing Stalker again a few weeks ago after having not touched it in about 9 months or so.

I haven't played S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Clear Sky since March. I've been wanting to play it again for a while, but I couldn't bring myself to dump all of my time into it.

Even worse - I got Stalker + Clear Sky last year when they went on sale for STEAM. Lazy.

Oh I did too. Obviously I wasn't starting it until finishing the first one. My backlog is hellacious, it doesn't help that I explore every nook and cranny of games that are set up for exploring.

First time playing, I got the greedy bad ending, though I was supposed to get one of the better endings. I hit a bug in the game which took every other stalker's opinion of me and reduced it to the lowest it could possibly be. I remember it having done that to me several times in the game, where I'd move through a loading point and suddenly have the opposite amount of disposition. That was right when it came out, before patches and mods were released to attempt fixing the game's many problems.

I played through with Stalker Complete and I noticed my kill stats are all out of whack. They look about right for the number of enemies killed on the right hand side considering all the back and forth I did, but the left side says I've killed nearly 300K enemies.
