Lately I've been discovering more and more things people have made/ported as a homebrew DS game. I've been getting into all the emulators, which surprisingly, have been quite reliable. Really enjoying the Genesis and TG-16 emulators being in my pocket.
And then I found actual hombrew games like Doom, Duke Nukem, Touhou, etc. My interest was captured, and am know looking into the seemingly abundant possibilities of having a DS flash cart. Really starting to love this thing.
Any Racketeers know of any other good hombrew games, or good websites to find them?

I play Neo-ds on a daily basis. It works surprisingly well.

Re: Discovering the DS homebrew scene
It depends on the game. Some play with little slowdown (metal slug, shock troopers) while others are laggy (fatal fury:motw, waku waku 7). I'd suggest investing in a EZ flash 3-in-1 cart since with the extra ram, the lag is unnoticeable. I use Lameboy almost every day and it's great!scarper wrote:Ooo.Fickieboy wrote:I play Neo-ds on a daily basis. It works surprisingly well.I was worried about that not working. Definitely looking into that.

I use R4 and MOTW flows perfect. I dont have a real Neogeo to compare, but I dont feel the lag when comparing it to its psp emulated version or the Dreamcast disc game.swiftzx wrote:It depends on the game. Cant talk for Wakuwaku since I havent tested it.
Anyway, OP should get the EZ since the extra ram comes handy for internetbrowsing and such.

Re: Discovering the DS homebrew scene
I have an M3 with a Slot 2 RAM cartridge. The Slot 2 cartridge provides extra RAM for homebrew games. Works pretty well so far. I have heard very good things about EZ though. I'm actually using one of their flash carts for my GBA SP, and its been working very well.Fickieboy wrote:I use R4 and MOTW flows perfect. Internet browsing? I've tried looking into some of the homebrew browsers, but didn't really find a good solution.
Re: Discovering the DS homebrew scene
I'm in the process of trying to find some of the good things in the DS homebrew scene. I really need to find a good place to get a Flash Cart. But if the DS scene is as active as the Wii scene, getting into it would be worth it I'm sure.
Collects promo gaming stuff, certain import games, hockey memorabilia, and other oddball things. (sig and avy under construction)

I tried the SSB DS earlier today, and its not that great. There's a few different versions, and they all have pretty bad controls. Its an incomplete yet interesting project, and I hope the final turns out well.
