First time ever to beat Top Gun without some sort of cheat. It's still tough as nails, but once you play it for hours on end, the payoff at the end is worth it... Well, kind of.

1943. I had to continue 100's of times, but have beaten this game before, and wanted to do it again. Too bad the power ups only go so far.

And the Bears once again win the Super Bowl!

First 50 Games for 2010 (Click for names)
New Super Mario Bros. - DS
Dead Rising 2: Case Zero - XBLA
Left 4 Dead 2: The Passing - 360
Fable II - 360
Fabie II: Knothole Island - 360
Fabie II: See the future - 360
Final Fight - XBLA
Sonic 4 - XBLA
Portal: Still Alive - XBLA
Gears of War 2 - 360
Metroid - NES
Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow - DS
Metro 2033 - 360
Skate. - 360

I have wanted to play this game since it was released just never got around to it, well the engine is amazing but there were certain parts of it that really annoyed me, such as the loading times between stacking and respawning drove me utterly nuts, I also did not like the racing sections of the game.

Bonkers (SNES)
Smartball (SNES)
Marvel Super Heroes in War of the Gems (SNES)

TOTAL: 40

My Internet was out for a few days, so I sat down and beat three SNES games.

First off, Bonkers is an easy and short platformer from Capcom based on Disney properties. The game doesn't really get challenging until the fifth level. The boss of that level also happens to be the most difficult, and serves as a nice prelude into the final boss battle, which isn't very challenging once you know what to do. It's a nice game, but I feel there are other platformers folks should look into before picking this one up.

Smartball is a mixed bag. It's got some quaint graphics, pleasant music, and some interesting level design. Apparently there's also a plot involving the main character being turned into a blob by an evil wizard at the behest of a jealous brother, but this was cut from the US release. But what keeps the game from greatness is the control. Jerry, the blob, has an attack if you hit up on the D-pad. Unfortunately this attack will cause you to plummet straight down to your doom if it goes off, and it has a nasty habit of suddenly going off even when I'm holding the edge of the button. As I've not had control issues in other games, I'm assuming its the game. And control just goes to shit once you're in water. Anyway, it's entertaining and a better game than I was expecting, but the control issues seriously piss me off.

But I followed it with Marvel Super Heroes in War of the Gems, which is an awesome game! Spiderman was easily my preferred character, but when it came down to the final battle with Thanos, I gave the Hulk a strength upgrade to make him more powerful, and HULK SMASH! I was also surprised at some of the enemies which made it into the game, especially Blackheart. I had wondered where Capcom's idea for using him in a fighting game had come from, and now I know. All in all, an excellent game, and one I'll happily recommend to other comic fans.

PM me if we can work a borrow/trade type of thingy for War of the Gems. I'm an Infinity Gauntlet nut, and haven't been able to get my paws on a copy yet.

Ah, sorry Luke, but I'm afraid I never trade my games and you live a bit far for me to loan it to you.

Honestly though, it's also in pretty poor condition. The label was torn up pretty bad before I bought it, and even though I cleaned it, there's still grime in the harder to reach crevices. You can find copies online for less than $15 on eBay though.

I'm the same way, just ask noise.

I'd look for a rom, but this game seems to be worth the 15+ year wait to play.

I really enjoyed this, I had started the Wii version in the past but really did'nt dig it too much, after player the "Sith Disc" which a friend had loose, I knew I would have to play the full thing eventually, well I enjoyed it from start to finish and look forward to playing the sequel.

i have been busy with school and other shit, so video games have taken a back seat. but, i was able to beat task force harrier ex recently. the game is good; not great but definitely not bad either. one thing i liked about the game was it alternating between two game play "styles." one "style" was flying close to the ground with the majority of the enemies being stationary guns or slow moving tanks and the other "style" flying high in the air with the majority of the enemies being fast moving planes.
if you took a shit, please put it back
