Running PS2 Games from HD

It's easier if you just get somebody else to do it as you sound like you aren't experienced in this sort of thing. For somebody with the means to hack cards it's seriously 2 minutes max. For somebody with an unexploited system it's a 20 minute job, if you get everything right the first time, not to mention the additional hassle of sourcing an action replay/gameshark that is compatible etc.

I used a slide key made from an old gift card, and the 007 Agent Under Fire trick. Agent Under Fire is much easier to find than a GameShark, and considerably cheaper. I got mine for about $3.


Does anyone have experience with the HD Combo kit for adding IDE hard drive support to the earlier Slim PS2s? I know some people who are interested, but I've got no idea how tricky it might be to solder the kit to the main board.

I can make MCBoot memory cards. I don't know much about shipping though. All you need is a regular 8mb card (they are more reliable than some of the 3rd party ones). It literally takes like 1 minute to actually make the card. It would be the "noobie package" that includes FreeMC Boot 1.8, ESR, ULaunch, Hd Loader (with frontend) and some other things i've never used.

It's hard to make a card if you don't already have HD Loader or swap magic or one of the Cheat Disc exploits.

I just made my first card 2 days ago because the original one I bought was corrupted. It worked intermittently and the HD Loader program on it was not working at all. Turns out the card was just bad. The new one boots up every single time without fail.
