Yet another franchise that's been unnecessarily resurrected into an unforgiving market. Might try the demo, but this screams of redundancy as it is.

I am not sure it was great in the sense that the game was clever in any way but it was a popular game just because of the horror gore theme. If you like at the time it had a reputation of being a video nasty

I liked the originals. It was a horror gory beat 'em up. Not more not less. if the new one satisfies this well, then it gets a good grade from me.

Don't like most of these online reviewers anyway.

had it only been released on the Wii, I would have bought it. I would have bought it just because I'm a fan of the series. And because the mask was a pre-order bonus. :?

Yeah, I never thought the older one's were that great either, so this reboot might be par for the course. They just need to add in online and local coop and lot of cool kills; I'd probably gamefly it just for that.

I love Wanpaku Graffiti

The originals are great too, a fun and straight forward beat em up with a lot of horror and gore.

Ya know, I'm familiar with the Splatterhouse games but never really played them. They've always been considered more like "cult classics," right - similar in a sense to a B-movie?
