I don't think this is related to the quality or popularity of the games, but with them being digital-only and bundled. In a way it is a bit like freeware: even though many of them are very good, do you consider, say, Iji as part of your collection even if you played it and keep it on your hard drive? You don't really consider it "yours" in the same way I think.
It is a bit different with something you pay for, some indie game or anything you get at GoG or Steam that you actually bought you are bound to consider "yours" I reckon.
That is how I see it, more or less, and from some similar responses above I think those are likely the key issues.

Re: Windows games
Do any of you think that these games might be part of the reason we don't consider downloadable games part of our collections? I mean, let's face it, we've had access to these for just about as long as we've had Internet access. Downloadable and purely online games, or games obtained via digital distribution, are newer than the inhabitants of the games folder for Windows 3.1. Is it possible that our thoughts on those games have influenced how we feel about downloaded titles, as opposed to the other way around?
Re: Windows games
It's an interesting point. I track everything I buy on my backloggery page, but I have never even thought to include Minesweeper or any of those games. It never even occurs to me to play them. I don't put them in my Steam folder either, with all the other games. However, I do track games that I downloaded for free or that were gifts for me. I don't track flash games though, even though there are some great flash games. I'm not sure why some games are treated as lesser when they still fit the dictionary definition of videogames.

Re: Windows games
It would be fun if Steam tracked hours played of non-Steam games and people added Solitaire and Minesweeper to the library.
Call of Duty: Black Ops - 130 hours played, 1 hour today
Solitaire - 2580 hours, 3 hours today

Re: Windows games
Part of the problem is compatibility. I have stacks of old pc games that don't work anymore. Sonic CD, Ultimate Doom 95. . . I downloaded Lode Runner Mad Monk's revenge and that would only work on another windows xp computer, not on Windows 7. . .
