I solved my problem before anyone posted. You can delete this thread.
Original Post:
Just today, I soldered a modchip into my Slim PSOne. Without the case screws, I went to turn it on, and successfully booted a burnt copy of Alundra. The modchip installation was successful.
But when I tried to turn it off, the power switch got stuck, in the down position. I unplugged it, took the top cover off, and examined the power button. It was not stuck on any grime, or other stickiness. I think the power switch is missing its spring.
This is probably the single most frustrating thing that has ever happened to me. I successfully mod a psone, BUT NOW I CANT TURN IT ON!!!
Does anyone know what the possible missing piece loks like? Did I break the console?

Re: Slim PSOne Power Switch
Never mind guys, I solved the problem.
I remembered that during the chip installation, I had accidentally bumped the power switch mechanism with the soldering iron, deforming its shape minutely, but enough to get it stuck in itself. Wasn't even a problem with the casing, like I had previously assumed. With pliers, I managed to put it back in its regular shape. It turns on again. My PSone is back in working order, and modded.

You could have deleted it yourself. You can delete your posts only if some one hasn't posted after you. If you make a thread and no one posts in it, you can delete your first post and the thread will disappear.scarper wrote:Never mind guys, I solved the problem.

Kind of good it wasn't deleted yet though. I picked up on something. Good catch in fixing that switch!
