What are the best modern PC exclusives?

Post by J T »

I just started playing The Witcher again and I'm enjoying it more this time. There's something very cool about the witcher universe. I'm wondering what you guys think are some of the other great PC exclusives out there?

The stalker series for me right now. Clear sky may be shit but the rest of them are awesome. If you do play them get the complete mods.

I'm playing cities XL 2011 edition right now. An excellent city building game. I love it. It's a lot less buggy than Sim City 4 (and waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more stable), really fun when designing the city, with lots of options and a large area to build on, plus the game has a very good learning curve.

Reading the first two thread titles in this forum also answers the question.

"What are the best modern PC exclusives?"
"Minecraft"

Had to start it didn't ya! Each platform has its pros & cons enough said. I find the PC indie scene absolutely awesome. Games are made with pure imagination and with no corporate mass appeal development direction. After my laptop dies, I plan picking a gaming PC just to start discovering all these gems.

StarCraft II. I went with the obvious and easy choice.

Not many left these days, unfortunately. I'd say Company of Heroes series, Sins of a Solar Empire (depends on what you class as modern), Civilisation V, Torchlight, Dawn of War 2, umm.. Don't know of any others. Not too many PC exclusives these days :(.

I've heard mixed opinions about Anno 1404, a lot of them moaning about the DRM. Same with Cities XL. I LOVE strategy/simulation type games, so I was a bit disappointed about the mixed reviews for Cities XL, I was going to get it when it was on Steam sale recently, but I didn't for some reason.

If I love games like AOE/Sins would I like Anno 1404? Same goes for RCT/Sim City regarding Cities XL.

Most mentioned here- Cities XL, Minecraft, Starcraft II, Civ V, Torchlight, DoW II, STALKER. There's a few that aren't exclusives, but the Console port is really bad so there's no reason not to play the PC version (TF2)
