A lot of those levels remind me of Super Meat Boy and VVVVVV.

They recreated all the levels from SMB3 in New Super Mario Bros for the DS? That's pretty awesome. Would have been better if they did it with the Wii version (imo) but it's still really cool when people do things like this.

just tried the hack on my DS with R4 and i must say it's pretty cool! now i'm playing NSMB again with a SMB3 theme! and more . wish the music and the costume could be hack so it got the real SMB3 feel on it. the finish line is also not SMB3 related, but SMB1. but overall a good job on the hack and i enjoyed it.
if only the 25th anniversary graphics were like this...

I tried the hack on the PC. couldnt get into it. Ill have to try it on my DS some time.
sevin0seven does Mario slide around a lot while playing it on the DS?
I ask cause while I was playing it on the PC, the controls felt way to loose.

he does slide a bit.. but it feels natural from NSMB control. i also tried the PC version yesterday and the control is quite similar (except i'm using the keyboard this time). wish there was a better DS emulator but i guess no$GBA is the best out there currently.VGMStudios wrote:I tried the hack on the PC. couldnt get into it. So they didn't hack the music? That would have made it a million times better if they did the correct SMB3 music for each level. Maybe some one will one day.
