Whatever browser Original_Name uses, use his, because he seems to have absolutely no trouble writing long, detailed posts. :D

I use IE8 and JT's problem is a recurring one for me especially with PHP boards. I encounter this problem on various machines and Windows so I reckon it's browser-specific.

It's a minor inconvenience that I wouldn't replace the browser for, unless I found one that impresses me.

It's totally browser specific. Internet Explorer is widely known to be incredibly buggy, and has a lot of trouble running PHP boards, while some pages, it just can't run.

Please, use Firefox at the very least. It's faster, not buggy, and is safer than IE8.

I've been using IE since v4, why should I quit now? :P I did try FF for several months, Opera too, but I kept falling back to IE. I boot up FF if I need to use a particular script, which isn't often.

You used IE6?!? Oh golly why oh why would you do that?

Basically, I rank the main 5 browsers as FF > Chrome > Safari > Opera > IE. So basically you're sitting on the bottom of the totem pole and thinking you're doing mighty fine down there.

I'm pretty sure that's an IE problem. I remember where I used to work had IE browsers on the computer and you couldn't put Firefox on any of the 'public' computers. It used to annoy the hell out of me. You'd get to the bottom of the text box and it would start scrolling your curser to the top and then you'd click to the bottom, but miss and press the right button to adjust the curser and it would shoot back up to the top. I just started writing my posts in notepad and copying them over.

Just use Firefox or Chrome. IE is a piece of useless shit.

I agree with you except I would reverse the positions of Chrome & FF. I think the only time IE was decent was back in IE5 days. Since then, it sucked.

The only time I ever use it is because a couple stupid IT applications at work only work with IE.

Not completely useless. It's handy when you want to manually do windows updates in XP instead of trusting the automatic nonsense.

Oh, snap!

I'm pretty verbose too, and I entered this thread thinking it was going to be someone telling us to keep it short or STFU.

Seriously though, I wonder who are the 25 longest-winded posters on Racketboy. The best metric to use would probably be to just calculate each member's average number of words per post. Conversely, using the same "WPP" metric, who are the 25 most laconic posters?

My reasoning is that Firefox is more secure than Chrome, which is Chrome's huge area that it's lacking. Chrome is really quick, but if you have a new computer, it's pretty much negligible in my opinion.

And yeah, our guys at my work (I work university IT) say that the only things to use IE for are to install Firefox and Novell applications. Because for some reason our university insists on using a crappy system. :?
