JAP 360 and US model 250GB Hard Drives , works ?

Post by s8n »

hi RB scene , i have JAP 360's and have bought in my home Country (Australia) 250GB Hard Drives and they work great.

I plan to buy 250GB US Model Hard Drives and need a confirm that they will work on my JAP 360's , i dont want to make a mistake and be stuck with something that is incompatible.

any info helps

Just looked at playasia:

Looks like some one bought the US hdd and used it on their Japanese 360 without a hitch. Can't find any concrete evidence that it'll work though.
If you aren't having a good time, why are you playing?

Not to be a jerk or nothin, but in the past some members have been offended when someone describing the region of their console as JAP. Just a heads up is all.

There is no reason that it would not work, as the region lock is only written into the game software.

For the record, "JAP" is a lot better than "Jap"! "JP" is best.

thats a good suggestion , im going to use "JP" from now on. I didnt even realize that my previous description of Japanese Hardware/Consoles/Games could have been hurtful. But i have learnt from it and have been corrected for the future.

i think "jap" is typically mostly sensitive amongst US and Japanese folk, i can't imagine it being a huge deal in australia. i could be wrong though.

i always put "NTSC-J" because it makes me look all cool and fancy.

I hate the that shorthand Japanese label almost as being called Scene.
You really should re-edit your OP title, note mine in the small font above, with a clearer sentence.

As to your query, don't see why it won't work. Formatted Hard Drives are not Region specific.

It holds similar negative connotations here due to Australia involvement in the Pacific during WW2.

However younger generations tend to use older generations racial slurs without having racist thought behind it (ie in Australia, the term Wog (Italians / Greeks) was very offensive, however teens use it today just to describe people of ethnic backgrounds (There is a comedy call The Wog Boy as an example).

If someone said "Jap 360" I would not think they were being racist, just lazy.

Why is "Jap" offensive? (I really don't know, I'm curious.)
