Had something similar happen while at school with a friend of my roomate borrowing a bunch of my tools to work on some lowrider Schwinn bikes he was building. He had my tools forever and I had borrowed a Fugazi CD from him during that time. Months later my roomate brought me the tools back, but a pair of pliers was gone. I was kinda pissed and held onto the CD which the guy never mentioned again. When we were cleaning out the apartment at the end of the summer turns out my roommate had the pliers in my room and they'd been in there for more than 6 months. The bike dude was long gone and I never saw him again so I ended up with a CD for my trouble.
