I actually really liked the Advance Guardian Heroes (it's a different thing, an a handheld game, but apparently lots of people were disapointed. I think people might have liked it if they weren't comparing it with the notable ancestor)
I only played a tiny bit of the Saturn Guardian Heroes but it seemed quite good from my very minor playtime.

Yeah, it would be incredibly awesome if it was modernized a bit

Yup. Guardian Heroes was one of the first games I played since I started using Saturn again. (4 years ago) I bought an original copy from a local game shop. I must admit, its one of my favorite Saturn games of all time. When I first got the game I played it non-stop. My friends would come over, we unlocked every character and beat the game in almost every diffrent path. I could never get tired of this 'gem'. Its a must play for anyone getting back into the Saturn I suggest. The GBA game, please ignore that title. play the original!!
I spent SOOOOO much time playing this game... It was one of my first Saturn titles and one of my favorites over the years. I have viewed most of the the endings and discovered some neat tricks along the way.
*spoiler trick*
Once someone is dead you can continue to juggle them. As long as they were alive when you started the juggle and you don't let them hit the ground, you can keep getting experience off them. Once they so much as touch the ground, however, even if it's just to bounce back into the air into a juggle, you stop earning experience. I found this trick works best with Randy and Ginjirou once you've boosted their speed a little. Han can do it decently well, but if you put too much into his strength he hurls people too far with each hit to get in enough hits to make a difference. Also, too much speed on Ginjirou can screw things up, too. Randy's the safest bet for this trick all around.
