Resident Evil 5 Controls?
Does Resident Evil 5 have the same tank controls (left thumbstick controls all movement) as Resident Evil 4? If so, is there at least a dual-analog control option (similar to Gears of War) in the menu?

If I remember correctly, I think it's a dual stick setup

There are a bunch of different control schemes but they all work about the same. It's like resident evil 4. The left stick is to move the character. You can only turn left or right, and move forwards and back while the right stick is to just move the camera and it will swing back behind your character. When you shoot your gun you hold a trigger and he'll pull out a weapon which you can't move around with, aiming with one of the joysticks. There is another one where the left stick will move your character left and right, strafing, instead of locked to turning. But you still can't shoot while moving or use both sticks at the same time really.

Ok, so in that setup... do I turn my character left and right with the right thumbstick?(-_-) wrote:There is another one where the left stick will move your character left and right, strafing, instead of locked to turning.
Because that's what I'm hoping for. I've been playing Psi-Ops (Xbox) recently and it can be setup like that in the options. If RE5 has a control option like this I'll buy it this week.

Yes. In fact that's the default control setting. You still can't move while aiming any of the guns just in case you didn't know.Weekend_Warrior wrote:Ok, so in that setup... do I turn my character left and right with the right thumbstick? .(-_-) wrote:There is another one where the left stick will move your character left and right, strafing, instead of locked to turning.
I feel old when talking to anyone my age yet too inexperienced to effectively talk to anyone older. Life is grand that way.

Yeah, that's ok if I can't move while aiming or shoot while strafing or running. I understand that It's not a run and gun like Gears. So I actually don't mind the slower, more focused Aim/Shoot system at all. It was just the basic move mechanic of the character in RE4 that frustrated me. Otherwise, I know that I would have enjoyed the game. I just like being able to turn/rotate with the right thumbstick on my first and third-person shooters. It's like second-nature to me now - it just feels right

I dunno, try RE4 on the Wii. I loved that control setup!
