Correct. I was being sarcastic in my first post. I thought it was appropriate, since Snakes on a Plane is well known example of something that had a lot of apparent support based upon looking at the internet, but was ultimately a financial failure.

I could also draw parallels to the presidential campaigns of Ron Paul and Howard Dean.

*EDIT* - Improved my grammar.

Haha, kids today. I swear.

Actually, the antiquing game will probably be successful, due to low development costs. Sure, 10 people might buy it at $40, but if it only costs $100 to make, then they've earned 400% of what they spent. Companies do this all the time as a means to earn money to make more expensive games. It takes funding to make a game, which could sit in development for years and only be a moderate success. Namco will take these funds and put it towards making a Tales game or a new Tekken or Soul Calibur or something else. Who knows, perhaps the funds could even go towards translating a Tales game for the Western markets?

Plus...ok, it doesn't look very entertaining, but there's always the off chance it's actually a fun game. I wouldn't pay much for it, but you never know.

I hope that on a message board in Japan somewhere, someone is complaining about the Antiques Roadshow not being released in Japanese.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?
