Austin, TX meet up thread

It went great!

We had a turn out that was pretty close to the original Racketboy meet.

We played:

Marvel vs Capcom
Capcom vs SNK
Project Justice
Soul Calibur
Power Stone
Outrigger
Red Dog

and a few more, I think. Prizes were handed out.

And then, of course, Mexican Food and the arcade. A damn fine Thanksgaming.

Made it home, great event all! Thanks a lot to everyone who showed, it was tons of fun and I'm glad I could be part of one of these. Flake's prizes were awesome and turned out to be hilarious reading material on the car trip home.

Really looking forward to future events, you guys have a brilliant thing going and I only wish I was closer to the action.

Mugenmidget and crew, thanks again for coming down! So glad you were able to take part. It was great having you! You guys are a bunch of fighting game Jedi.

Holy shit we took a lot of video. Redline9 has some work ahead of him.

That was an amazing Thanksgaming.

Some things I learned tonight:

-The Dreamcast is the greatest local multiplayer gaming console ever made.

-Red Dog is one of the best Dreamcast multiplayer games ever made.

-Game Over is da' bomb.

I think I can kinda make out the back "game room" you were talking about, wip3outguy7, no good pictures of the space back there unfortunately. I'd prefer the Austin store for the shorter drive obviously but I'll try to make it either way.

Attention my fellow Texan Racketboys: I have good news. There is a new arcade in Austin, Texas.

It's called "Pinballz Arcade" and it just opened on November 20th, 2010. It's right off Research Blvd, east of Burnet Road.

Let me jump right into it: this place is positively massive. They claim 13,000 sq. ft. and I believe it! They have an extensive collection of pinball machines, old and new. There are also stand-up arcade machines, racing games, shooting games, air hockey, foosball, 'skill' games, and even some cocktail cabinets. Most games are 50 cents to play. The newer pinball machines and some newer arcade games were 75 cents to play. They currently take quarters but an employee informed me that they would like to move to a token system soon.

And how about this, wip3outguy7, why consolize Virtual On controls when you can just go play on an original Virtual On arcade machine? I imagine you would appreciate that. Oh, and it was 25 cents to play.
