Re: RPG gameplay hrs
If a game will let you grow your team after 370 hours of gameplay
then the developers better make all the stats and upgrades movable to the sequel
at least then you start the game new game with an advantage and some kind of a reward for all the hours you put into the game. Or maybe get some kind of a discount on the game

Re: RPG gameplay hrs
I couldn't tell you how long it takes to complete an RPG because I never finish them.
I like the genre, but I just can't devote the time. I just settle for getting a good feel for each game's universe and then move on. I always intend to finish things later, but rarely do.

To be honest I will play about 20 hrs in the first 3 days then I slow down to a couple hrs a day. When I get close to 80 hrs or get 80% done I sometimes stop then pick the game back up in a month or two and finish.
When you break it down that seems pretty reasonable, if I had the time I'd probably do something similar. Thinking of it now I wouldn't be surprised if I put around 100 hours into Animal Crossing Wild World. After I ran out of lots of stuff to do I'd still turn the game on every day for nearly a year to clean my town and manage my hybrids.

PSP:
Tales of Eternia - 00:48
Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep - 43:31
PoPoLoCrois - 27:14
DS:
Summon Night: Twin Age - 05:13
Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time - 09:32, 08:37
Magical Starsign - 04:44
Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo Tales - 10:00
Final Fantasy III - 03:13
GBA:
Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga - 18:02, 06:41, 12:58
MegaMan Battle Network 4: Red Sun - 21:09
Pokémon Ruby - 07:50
Shining Force: Resurrection of the Dark Dragon - Doesn't list the playtime, but it's at least above 200 hours in total.
MegaMan Battle Network - 00:09 (I try to speed-run this a lot so yeah... >_>)
Pokémon Emerald - 140:27
MegaMan Battle Network 3: Blue - 11:55
MegaMan Battle Network 5: Team Colonel - 11:01
I am really confused by some of times you listed. example: Tales of Eternia - 00:48
Did it really take 48 mins? I am only looking for times it took to complete the games not how long you played the games. let me know which ones are finished games and I will add them to the list. Same goes for speedruns, I am trying to make a list of the average time to complete and they would also throw the time off.

Check out http://www.rpgamer.com and you can find out average completion times from just about every RPG out there on their reviews. I guess you didn't see that in my post earlier. Very informative site.
