I've got around 20 GameCube games, although not played many of them yet, and couldn't remember initially which ones used the C stick for testing purposes! lol
You guys are right, console modding has expanded in some ways, although the audience is diminishing for such when they lose interest in retro consoles for other pastimes. Most people seem to want to make portables with N64, GameCube, NES clones and that's pretty much it by and large. I've lost interest in these sorts of things mostly as "been there, done that"; mods i'm interested are primarily ones that haven't been done before (or much) or different in the way i'm doing them.
What I like about my Alpha Omega project, on a modding level, is my project is totally unique; never been done before and probably won't be done by others after me. That isn't an idle boast, it's a fact.

Are we forgetting about the R2D2 with 8 consoles? Or about the MANY MANY multi console systems that appeared on TechTV in the early 2000's? The Super Genintari?

There are a few systems that have a few console systems built in, yes; however they all use the original controllers for the systems so have the ports for the original controllers to go into if you notice. The reason for this is that the controllers are incompatible (with a couple of exceptions) and conflict with each other; also some systems use a matrix on the controller that makes life harder still (Intellivision, Colecovision). Some controllers are far from easy to use (Colecovision, CD-I and some others). Less popular systems also use a variety of different voltages to manage, whereas many of the popular systems only use one voltage to run.
These other multi systems you refer to don't use the same base controller, that is what makes this project unique - as it does. It also makes the build far more complex, however, you won't need a large box of controllers at the end of the project with the usual spaghetti of tangled wires.
When i've made the next video in the next weeks (lots of work to do to get to that stage), it'll become far clearer as a picture paints a thousand words.

That is very true, no idea how much wiring will be inside the console base unit but it could well be 80-100m with all the cart relocation, power lines, cables, etc inside. The unit will also be heavy at several kilos in weight (the console innards weigh quite a bit after all), so not overly portable either - it'll be a situation of finding a home for it in the lounge and leaving it in a permanent place, hence why i'm using around a 12 foot cable to connect the base unit to the controller so the controller unit can be used easily on the sofa without moving the base unit!

I don't know why there are negative comments about this project. My suspicion is jealousy and not having the skills to do the same. Bacteria, you have some phenomenal mods and this one is really special. I hope when Racketboy makes that Arcade Controller Blog, part of this Thread is included. Truly amazing logistics involved in designing and building the Alpha Omega!
