I'm pretty sure that's the Billy system at IKEA. You probably overlooked them because you buy the shelves separately from the doors. You can fix them to your walls and they also have a cool little cut out at the bottom so they wrap around your skirting board (if you have any) so they are flush to the wall. You can also get a corner mounting bracket and have them slink round a corner of your room.
At my old house we had two of the big bookcases (in black - oh yeah, that's how I roll) segued with a little CD shelf between them in the corner of the study. Looked really professional. Everybody asked us if it was fitted into the property and where they could get one.

Hmm, yeah that would make sense. I'll have to recheck Ikea and see where to order those extra doors.

Ikea is great for shelves if you pick them at the store. I live about 2 hours from the nearest store and it costs nearly twice the amount of the shelf to ship it. I'll be redoing my game room in the near future to make the stuff match better and I think I'll probably go with a similar set up. They also have a door that is top half glass and bottom half wood. I'm considering that also to keep things looking neater.

I live 30 mins from the store but my car is small. So I always have them deliver, which works out to be $50-70 depending on how much stuff I buy. But if I try to buy off the website instead the shipping is insane, since it doesn't come from the store.JWatts wrote:Ikea is great for shelves if you pick them at the store. Another good option which I use is the Benno DVD tower:
http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/87305207
Configured for DVD/UGC you get 8 rows that can store 10 DVD or 6 UGC. Configured for DS games you get 12 rows of 10 cases each. And the construction means you can get away without anchoring them to the wall. You can leave the base a few inches away from the wall and have the top leaning against the the wall and never have to worry.
