This stuff looks pretty darn interesting. I'd love to buy many of them and probably will when I have the funds available.

New fully packaged never before release Genesis/MD games
Looks similar to the one NES service out there.
They should do some of the rare imports for the Genesis

So let me get this straight? £22 + shipping for unreleased unfinished games that are free to download on the net?
I'm really not seeing the appeal. I could understand if the games were translated imports, then we'd have some value. I just don't see the appeal in bootlegs.
Especially when the main advantage according to the website is playing them on a TV with a proper controller. I can do that on my xbox...

He's already close to illegal by selling these products... as he states on the webpage " You are only paying for the materials and work to create each cartridge, not the ROM image itself which are easily found on the internet."Scooter wrote:From the long thread he has on Sega-16 I don't think he is willing to do copies of previously issued commercial releases.
This is probably his little disclaimer that he isn't trying to bootleg these titles. By doing this with commercially released titles, he is then breaching even more laws that could get him in far worse trouble!

Of course there is, I have a Sega Saturn controller adapter and a home made Genny adapter for my PC. But even then it just doesn't feel the same.GSZX1337 wrote:I never understood that argument against emulation.devilmyarse wrote: with a proper controller.People seem to forget that there are controller adapters for PCs and consoles.
My PC isn't set up in the living room or by my bed or couch where I get to sit back and relax while I play a game. My PC is at a desk with a computer chair, it just feels odd to me. Then on top of that the video is just different and on a much smaller screen then my TV.
My television in the living room is 50 inches and my monitors range from 19 to 30 inches. On the TV the picture quality is close to what should be expected, on PC it is blocky and pixelated because my monitor doesn't go as low as 320X240. For a lot of other people their monitors are probably even smaller then mine and have probably a 30 inch TV.
I don't know, the feeling of a good TV, quality surround sound home theatre, a sega genesis, a couch and a coffee table with some snacks on it just feels right to me!
...
Then there is that one immediancy thing. When I'm on an emulator I have 3000 titles just 3 clicks away. I'm constantly swapping titles at the slightest annoyance and never get deep into a title unless I KNOW it's gonna get better (i.e. Shining Force or something). Where as with a console, getting out another title takes a bit more work... I tend to play a little longer and see what a game has to offer instead of getting up, going to the bookshelf, standing there debating what title to play, yanking it out of its case and replacing the existing title with it.
Sounds lazy maybe, but I'm playing videogames already... you can't get much lazier!

I'm with you 80% .. I think for the average gamer, burns are a good thing on older consoles. They may never get a chance to play Radiant Sivergun .. but just because millions have a CDR of Radiant Silvergun does not hurt the value of the game to a collector. I have yet to meet a "true" collector that will take a free burn over a 50$ - 100$ rare original in box to complete a collection. We will always strive to get that original boxed game, but we can play a burn while we save for it.
just my 2 cents to keep this going. I'm really interested in what all have to say about this...
I still think its wrong to charge for a image file.. but I'm sure that will never go away.

I agree with you on that... but that isn't what I was referring to when I was talking about everything only a few clicks away. I was talking about how any game itself because a little less enjoyable for me when it is emulated on a PC... or if I have a stick of 8000 games I got for free. There are so many that if you get even remotely bored with a title because of one or two little issues, I tend to quickly jump right to the next title in the stack.selfdestroyer wrote:I'm with you 80% .. I never stick around long enough in a lot of titles when I'm emulating to ever judge if it is good or not, because I got bored with some stupid little thing and quickly jumped ship. For instance, "ActRaiser" for the SNES is said to be an amazing game... I tried it out on SNES9x, got bored with the intro with all the mode7 and everything and was just like, "meh" and swapped the rom out for something else.
