TV to computer hookup question
Hey gang. I've had my Mac hooked up to my HDTV for quite a while via VGA with no problems. Tonight I noticed what I can only describe as "Scan Lines" moving slowly up the screen. I only see them on the VGA input, cable looks normal. What gives? Maybe the shielding on the VGA cable became weak somehow? I didn't move any new devices near the TV, so I don't think its my router or anything. Weird. Thoughts? Thanks.

Happens with the Macbook I'm using as an HTPC too. Lemme know if you find the problem. Probably just the crappy adapter or integrated gfx.Jerkface Killah wrote:Hey gang. Are you also using a audio plug? Either to the TV or an external amp?

The VGA cable I'm using has a built in stereo cable going from the headphone jack on my Mac to the audio in port on my TV. Everything is the same way it's been, I can't see why this is happening.BigTinz wrote:Are you also using a audio plug? Either to the TV or an external amp?

Try moving the Mac around as far away the the TV while still plugged in. If interference gets worse or better, then definitely the Mac or associated cable. As an interim borrow another VGA cable and/or try a friend's laptop to confirm the interference source. The weak link would be that VGA cable. Has it been unplugged since that last time there was no interference?
