I don't mean to rain on your parade [or your N64], but it seems a bit too risky, and too much hassle for just a few hours of play time. That's not to say it isn't cool, though, but I usually just bring a portable when I want to play a game outside.

Not that it's not awesome, I'd actually do it too if I had a patio like yours, but I just don't get it.

I'm from SoCal and I don't get your comment. I'm guessing you might be in the bay area if it's about weather cuz it's almost always nice down south.

Ooohhhh, I see now. See, when I first read the topic, I thought it said something like, when weather doesn't permit, like its too hot inside or something. After reading the topic a while, I read when weather permits, and yeah...

Sorry guys, had a slow moment again.

I use to do something similar with some friends. His house had a screen porch and they had a sizable CRT tv out there in a weathered box - thinking back it was probably just a cooler or action packer cut in half. We would take the N64 out there for Mario Kart and Goldeneye. Good times. Once I get my house Im going to see about doing this myself - though with a more weatherproofed tv.

Thanks for the inspiration.

Must be nice to see the light of day every once in a while, with that patio

I got that tv for free. I keep it in the balcony closet. Setup and cleanup takes a total of five minutes. The balcony faces the south, so there are no moments of direct sun, and the trees block most of it if there is any, so no glare. The balcony doors open inward so there's no danger there. It's on the third floor, and if you look you can see a cooler in the reflection. It's the total setup for summer gaming.
I just want to separate the cereal from the mouse mask.

You could build/buy a cart to roll it out on. That is what I would do.

Are there any worries here of overnight condensation in non climate controlled storage? I remember reading about a flooding wiping out a huge Retro Collection.

The Patio idea is great, maybe have that TV on a table to save the back.
