What kind of AC Adapter are you using? Make sure it's the MK-4122 or you might have a brownout. I'm looking for the adapter right now. The one made just for the CDX.

I'm pretty sure that original one is gone. I think I gave it to someone by accident. I was using the ps2 slim power cord. I had read that the power cord could be used on the cdx.

Yeah, I'm not sure what the PS2 Slim uses, but the Sega CDX adapter used 1.5 amps compared to .85 for the regular sega systems. You might be underpowered.
