6dof = six degrees of freedom. The slang for the genre is Zaxis shooter. It means a shooter where you can move on all planes while in the same point. Descent is the flagship of the genre. Here is a video of Forsaken so you can get an idea:

I'm for Riviera, mainly because I need an excuse to continue playing it. It's a very competently designed RPG, and the item system is interesting. Trying to think of a WRPG alternate though. Only one coming to mind is KOTOR, but that's too new IMO.

I think I saw a copy of Dark Forces at Goodwill. Perhaps I'll see about picking that up.

Hobie, we will do Bards Tale or Dragonwar next year, we are going to keep the list as is - mostly because I forgot about the time line I imposed on this...

Just picked up a copy of Dark Forces so I'm up to a whopping 2 months I will join in for next year. :lol:

Aww, nothing really interests me this year except for Rayman, which I own the ps1 and gba version.
