I really wonder how they figure their numbers, how updated they are, etc. When I was hunting down PS1 longbox games there were certainly ones that popped up less than these two on eBay or elsewhere. I also am surprised that things like Spider Max 32X and Beggar Prince wouldn't be on their list. It doesn't seem to be based on print run, but on how frequently a game can be found. I am not sure I agree with all their ratings...
Yeah, I don't always agree with them either. Harmful Park for $75? Not sure what dreamland that price came from unless that's if you live in Japan. Even accounting for ebay being a little inflated sometimes, the 5 copies on there right now are $200 for a sun faded copy, 2 at $250, and a sealed copy for $460. I lucked out on a much cheaper copy from a US seller a while back, but it was still a long way from $75. Other rare imports like Zanac x Zanac aren't on there at all or don't have prices.

i also don't agree with their ratings. but then again, with ALL those systems and ALL those games they have keep track i wouldn't expect them to be too accurate. but for the most part, i would say it is a good way to 'ballpark' it. currently, i am kind of making up my own rating system for the sega cd. i say kind of, as in i am not writing anything down, but am keeping a mental record.
if you took a shit, please put it back

Mh, rare. I don't know if the following games are really rare, but I had some problems to find them:

(All PAL Games)

Snatcher (MCD)
Samurai Shodown (MCD)

Mega Man: The Wily Wars (MD)

Samba de Amigo (DC)

Hercs Adventures (PS1)

(All US Games)

Monkey Island (MCD)
Panic! (MCD)

Dragon Force (Saturn)
Magic Knight Rayearth (Saturn)
Hercs Adventures (Saturn)

(All Jap Games)

Napple Tale (DC)
Lack of Love (DC)
Christmas Seaman (DC)

Keriotosse (Saturn)
Try Rush Deppy (Saturn)

I also own a complete PAL Sega Saturn Collection and there are some games that are really hard to find. For example Frankenstein, Mortal Kombat Trilogy or Courier Crisis.

EDIT: I just saw that some games that I own are listed in the "Racketboy Holy Grail Guide".

So please add:

Radiant Silvergun (Saturn)
Panzer Dragoon Saga (Saturn)

Don't know the rarity but I picked up most of the 64DD games the other day. Still gotta get the machine though.
 (FC, AVFC, NES, SFC x2, SNES, N64, GC x2, Wii x2)*(G&W x7, GB, GBpocket, GBASP, DS-L x2)
(GEN, SS x3, DC x3)*(PCE-Duo)*(Xbox:500GB)*(NGCDZ, NGPC)*(PS1, PStwo, PS3:160GB, PSP.3K)

I think Doshin the Giant and Sim City for the 64DD are quite rare. The Mario Artist Games are relatively "common".

I really wanna play Sim City for the 64DD. I'm still holding out for a 64DD emulator. :D

If you mind me asking, what are the top right two titles? For some reason they look really familiar, but I can't remember what they are off the bat.

I guess for me it's ICO for PS2 (original version with the nice cardboard box) and Moonranger for NES

Nowadays I just focus on fun games that have a high replay value.
