No it isn't. Other than video games, I've never seen the NFL season called a year other than when it starts. Today is the NFL Kickoff 2010 according to NFL.com (http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/201009090 ... p3_package), where "2011 Season" doesn't show up anywhere.

Sports games put 2011 in the title of their 2010 games for the same reason that you receive October issues of a magazine the first week of September. They want to be able to continue selling them until the next one comes out and don't want them to look dated until then.

Anyone else excited about tonight's game?

I think the Packers will beat the Bears 24-10, but I'm picking the Bears anyway. If the Bears can control field position, they've got a great shot at winning the game. They need to keep it on the ground, as GB is giving up a lot of rushing yards, but the Bear's secondary has to be on its game, as Rodgers will eat them alive if he isn't passed rushed 2 out of every 3 downs.

I'm hoping for a good one.

Are Mike & Mike calling this game? Dear Lord I hope not.

And just when I thought I knew who the best team in the NFL was, they get a beat down from the Browns.

Colt played an amazing game though, cant take that away from him. I guess it's time for DelHomme to hang 'em up and call it a career.

Jets really pulled through when the pressure was on. I still can't tell if they're just on a lucky streak.
