AES Supergun? Would this Work?

Post by EllertMichael »

Kinda a long shot, but...
I came across this:
http://www.jammaboards.com/store/jamma- ... b36a8c154e
The JAMMA PCB to NeoGeo MVS Cabinet adapter will properly and safely allow the use of JAMMA PCBs into an existing NeoGeo MVS (Multislot) cabinet.
Would one then be able to chain this adapter to an adapter that allows use of MVS carts on an AES and play PCBs on a TV through an AES?
AES --> MVS --> PCB

No... Why would it?

The adaptor is for the 'jamma' harness that plugs into the MVS PCB via an edge connection (not the cartridge port which I think you are mistaking it for). Jamma isn't in the same standard as NeoGeo (same pins, just different locations), so this simply allows other non-NeoGeo PCBs to work in an MVS cabinet. It has nothing to do with AES. AES is the home console version of the NeoGeo.

In a nutshell, this allows you to get rid of the NeoGeo MVS motherboard from an MVS Cabinet and put in a different JAMMA arcade PCB in there. Such as Street Fighter 2 or something like that (I know SF2 requires 6 buttons, I couldn't think of any that used just four off the top of my head). It has absolutely nothing to do with the MVS hardware, just the cabinet harness.

ohhhhkay. yeah, I was mistaken. i thought the adapter plugged into the MVS cart slot, not a replacement for the MVS motherboard itself.
thanks for clarifying that for me, Niode
