New game joins the Bemani series (like Air hockey? Come in!)

Post by Erik_Twice »

So, like music games? Like air hockey? Then this game is for you!

Basically. Imagine an Air Hockey table only that notes go towards your goal. Seems incredibly fun and is very creative.

Here's a gameplay video:

Another video with better sound: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RMbfBnx ... re=related

This is against the CPU but I'm sure there are versus videos out there.

So, what do you think? I hope this gets out of Japan!

I doubt it will leave Japan/Korea, since arcades are more or less dead in the states, and I think the only Bemani game that's done well is DDR, and even that has kind of passed as a fad. It could possibly come as a DSiWare/iOS game. the board already looks like an iPad.

^I read somewhere that it is being ported for the iPad but proabbly won't be avalible to buy outside of Japan =/

The 3DS only registers one touch point, doesn't it?

If that's the case then just create a JP iTunes account and order some JP iTunes credit.

Yes, the 3DS isn't a multi-touch device.

This looks like a cross between bit.trip beat, Ouendan and Jubeat. Considering the last Bemani arcade machine was the Jubeat this seems the next logical step. It seems interesting that Konami continue to release bemani games that are impossible to recreate on home consoles.
