Re: Kinect or Move adoptions?
I'm more interested in the PS Move. But I must say that Kinect had a much more appealing game lineup at launch. It'll be interesting to see how each one does this Christmas.

Well, the wii is more than adequate enough for FPS games; have you played Call of Duty: modern warfare reflex or The Conduit? Just saying...EvilRyu2099 wrote:From what I'm hearing, Move could be useful in FPS games... Although it's early, it could be almost as precise as the mouse in games like Killzone 3 and Socom 4... That's one advantage I think the Move has over Kinect, it could actually appeal to hardcore gamers..

Still, Metroid prime did the FPS perspective well for Wii, but I'm looking forward to seeing how Goldeneye for Wii plays off.
If Wii can do that well, I'm certain Move can do it better
If you aren't having a good time, why are you playing?
Re: Kinect or Move adoptions?
Sin and Punishment 2 for Wii is really fun.
Re: Kinect or Move adoptions?
I think Kinect is gonna plummet in value. The only way I'll ever get one is if I can get one for about £60 with Child of Eden. That is the only game that interests me, Dance Central might be fun at parties but I wouldn't pay for it. I'd rather let some other chump foot the bill for that one.
£150 is just absolutely ridiculous for a jumped up webcam.

Kinect is an absolute joke. All the reviews coming out are hilarious, and almost everyone points to some serious problems with everything from the interface, to tracking, to the software, to the room setup needed.
To get it to work somewhat properly, you need 9ft of open space in front of your TV to play a game with more than one person (for one person you need 7ft). That is absurd: http://www.joystiq.com/2010/11/04/kinect-review/
It is like MS decided to take the worst part about the Wii - the inane flailing about - and somehow make it even worse.
Also, the review of Sonic Riders Kinect (or whatever it is called) up on Kotaku is a riot: http://kotaku.com/5681472/review-sonic- ... ols-can-be
Move is a joke too, but at least they improved on the Wii design. Kinect is a horrible step backwards for motion control.
But Oprah and Ellen like it, so it will sell.

Sorta like how GM, Toyota and others tried to "cash in" on Ford's Model T, right? Don't hate on Sony (or Microsoft) because they took what Nintendo started and made it better.Nullface wrote:It's just Microsoft and Sony trying to cash in on what Nintendo started like always.
That being said, I'm more interested in Move. Although I've not used it yet, Kinect seems to be technology better used for applications like that on Minority Report than it is for controlling a video game.

Re: Kinect or Move adoptions?
Conduit is pretty good but CoD kinda sucks... I guess that would all depend on how the developer implements the motion control... A previous poster in another thread said that the problem with using a Wii motion control for FPS is actually turning around 180 degress and trying to shoot(basically turning completely around and shooting someone behind you)...I would think that since the Move has improved on the problem that the Wii experienced, that this would make a better overall adjustment.. I would also think that in the future, like PC, they would allow one to adjust sensitivity so that when you up it, you can turn quicker.. As a matter of fact, they support customizable sensitivity for analog controller settings in games like BF BC 2..swiftzx wrote:Well, the wii is more than adequate enough for FPS games; have you played Call of Duty: modern warfare reflex or The Conduit? It isn't the question of what piece of hardware does it better. It's a question of are the games any good.avrame wrote:If Wii can do that well, I'm certain Move can do it better
So far, Nintendo has the upper-hand in the motion control game library but I hope Sony does get some great exclusive games. If Sony wants to sell these things in time for the holiday season they need to get on the ball and get some Move games released. (Not just rehashes of games already released). Personally, I'd like to see House of the Dead 4 for the PS3.

As far as Kinect goes, I cannot stop laughing whenever I see a commercial on television. If I can't take the product seriously I won't spend hundreds of dollars for the hardware and games. I think someone already made an Eye-Toy reference so I guess that's all there is to say about Kinect.
