Secret of Mana SNES- very freaking hard game ... took me like forever to get past the 3 wolfs that did that spam the hell out of the spin kick shit . god so annoying :/

Have you tried Seiken Densetsu 3? It makes Secret of Mana is a cakewalk in comparison.

shoot chrono trigger is great but it was easy compare to Secret of Mana. And Seiken Desetsu 3 ohh boy the name sounds tough lol.

Seiken Densetsu is the Japanese-only sequel to Secret of Mana. Possibly the most polished game on the SNES IMO. Intense difficulty, improved gameplay, six characters to choose from to create a team of 3, and a fantastic story. You can find it as an English ROM under the title of Secret of Mana 2. I implore you to check it out.

Playing Recettear right now, and quite enjoying it. Also snapped up The Last Remnant a bit ago, and will be playing that one next. Getting a hankering to play some Fatal Labyrinth now, though, thanks to Recettear. :p

I'm currently playing through chrono trigger for the first time. I had played chrono cross all the way to the end a couple years ago, and trigger is one of the few games that I've had as much fun with since then. In addition, my friends and I started playing secret of mana together last week, and that's been a blast as well

I am playing phantasy star for the first time and daaaaaaaaaaaamn is this game good. I HATE JRPGs but this is great. Between the 3d dungeons and the Logan's Run-esque aesthetic Phantasy Star has won me over. Will this be a gateway to other JRPGs... I do not know.
