I just wanted to say that all the 7800 and Odyssey2 hating needs to stop now, or I will be forced to come back to TX to "regulate some fools."
Feel free to hate on the 3DO though.

Re: Austin, TX Racketboy members' meet Jan/Feb/Mar (tentative)
I enjoyed my O² growing up and I played quite a bit of Food Fight on a friend's 7800 growing up. Let's face it, the least popular of the highly visible systems during their time. But there was no hate. Of course if it will make you come, there could be.dsheinem wrote:I just wanted to say that all the 7800 and Odyssey2 hating needs to stop now, or I will be forced to come back to TX to "regulate some fools."

I sent a PM to Adam Koralik of FigureItOut Productions: http://www.youtube.com/user/AdamKoralik
He doesn't live anywhere near Austin, but he's a huge Dreamcast fanatic with some great videos. LOL, maybe he'll show up.

Thanksgaming is a go. We have the gaming area reserved for the 14th from 1 to 5.
Also, David suggested possibly setting something up at the new San Antonio store that will be opening soon. The new store should be opening within the next two weeks and will have a game room/museum located in the back of the store. San Antonio members, where you at? He was also very excited about our larger meet up (which this thread is about, LOL). Hmmm... maybe we could hold this in San Antonio...

I'd be down for that. I'm about an hour for SA.
I'm working on bringing more non-Racket (I prefer the term 'pre-Racket') folk this time. They can be pilgrims to our indians this Thanksgaming.

Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

LOL, just remember we only have around 4-6 spots available for the 14th. You, Redline, Sharky and myself make 4.

Squeaks and Ed from last time make six. But I always plan for at least one person to bail.wip3outguy7 wrote:LOL, just remember we only have around 4-6 spots available for the 14th. You, Redline, Sharky and myself make 4.

Cool. We should figure out a way to dress up a console like a turkey. One of your dead Dreamcasts with controllers tapped to the sides like legs/wings?

And the yellowed plastic of an old SNES would look like the mash potatoes.wip3outguy7 wrote:Cool. We should figure out a way to dress up a console like a turkey. One of your dead Dreamcasts with controllers tapped to the sides like legs/wings?

I'm not hating on any of these consoles. Quite the opposite!dsheinem wrote:I just wanted to say that all the 7800 and Odyssey2 hating needs to stop now, or I will be forced to come back to TX to "regulate some fools."

I'm thinking that an obscure console or two is actually a really good thing for a genuine retro gaming meet-up. Hey, anybody can gather together and break out an N64. But a 7800 or a Sega Master System? At that point, you're a long way from Kansas, Dorothy. That's Racketboy territory.
LOL, I was burned by those so many times as a kid.Flake wrote: nab some Tiger Handhelds
