SD Cards for the Wii

Post by diehllane »

I'm just curious as to what brands of SD cards everyone out there is using in their Wii.

From my understanding, based on Nintendo's site, only 2 GB cards and smaller will work. Can anyone verify this? Or is Nintendo just trying to get you to buy Nintendo-seal SD cards(BD&A and SanDisk)?

I would like to get an SDHC card if they will work in a Wii(not sure if the Wii SD ports are 2.0 or not. I have the new version of th Wii, the d2c one). I know that once my Wii is modded, I can dump games to the SD card to copy them. So I figured 8 GB would be perfect so that I could dump an entire game onto the card.

Any information anyone can provide would be great!

I've used kingston 1gb and 2gb cards, but only for the occasional picture and had no problems whatsoever

Any branded SD cards should be fine. Not sure about cards larger than 2gig though. Personally I have a couple of 1 gig SanDisk ones.
