Video Problem With Mega Man X Collection
I recently picked up a very nice copy of Mega Man X Collection for the gamecube, but ran into some problems when trying to play it. When I start up the game, I hear some sound that sounds like the Capcom logo video, but there is not image. Eventually, it gets to the title screen, and I can actually see it. No problems after that, until I select a game. After I select a game, the same error happens; I get a blank screen with sound still playing. None of my button presses seem to do anything, so I don't know what is going on. I think the problem may be that I am using a GC Component cable, but I find it odd that there is a game that is incompatible with the cable. Any ideas?

Even the non-480p games run (in 480i) thru the Gamecube cable fine. Probably your connection.
Megaman X is 480p but not widescreen.

But it's odd; other games I try work just fine. I might try it with a Composite cable later.

Maybe a bad game disc?

Re: Video Problem With Mega Man X Collection
Megaman X collection runs in 240p. Your tv is misinterpreting that as 480i and trying to deinterlace it resulting in no picture for you and for others major flickering.
Its a common problem for HDTV's when having things hooked up through component and 240p. Another game that comes to mind is Disgaea on PS2 with component cables or ps1 games through ps2 component.
Only solution is to buy an upscaler to properly recognize it as 240p or use S-video. Some HDTV's can recognize 240p but they are few and far between.
