King of Fighters seems a popular option for fighting, and I'm still wanting shining force or command & conquer over nonobugas ambition so I can join in. I'm unconcerned about what gets chosen for FPS or baseball months, although I think dark forces was a relatively popular option.

I think the only way we could really do King Of The Fighters is as a series. There's so many releases in the series, I'm not sure how we could narrow it down to one. (Did one get an especially large number of ports?)

I think Nobugas Ambition was a great suggestion by Ack based on the number of ports it received. I'd also be very happy with Shining Force however, as I feel like the Shining series is extremely overlooked.

Jan: Riviera
Feb: King of Fighters '98
Mar: Dark Forces
Apr: Deja Vu

May: Zoop
Jun: Gradius III & Parodius
Jul: Rayman
Aug: Populous

Sep: World Series Baseball '95
Oct: Splatterhouse
Nov: Shining Force
Dec: Super Monkeyball

I updated your list, noise. I think KoF and Dark Forces both seem popular in the comments so far, as does Shining Force. '98 is probably the best rated KoF and is widely ported, even compared to some of the other titles in the series. I think it makes sense to use that one.

I want to lobby for World Series Baseball '95. It has 4 ports, the series is widely regarded as one of the best sports series of the 90s, and it is a game/series I'd be interested in doing a podcast episode about :) I also think we should play an "actual" sports title with real teams/stats/etc. since we've played arcade-style games in past years (NBA Jam, Punch-Out, etc.).

KoF '94 and Kof '98 are the most ported entries of the series. KoF '94 has made it to SNES, Genesis, PS1, Saturn, PS2, Wii, and PSP.

Kof '98 is on Dreamcast, PS2, Wii, and PSP.

There might be more...
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

the only choice I'm not crazy about is Dark Forces... I guess I was hoping for a more historical throwback in Doom/Wolf3D/DukeNuke or hell even Midi Maze as a history lesson. But I'm not going to argue with majority.

As far as the baseball title goes, I'm really into the idea of a realistic game rather than an arcade game.

For what it's worth, we've never done a licensed game in TR (unless you count Godzilla KOMM), which would make Dark Forces a first on at least two counts.

Yeah, KoF '94 is widely ported but I don't think it is a very good game as the series hadn't hit its stride yet.

Also, I'd still be up for Weaponlord if we decided to use that one. I guess I'm equally happy with either.
