What's the cheapest way to get a Turbografx 16 with cd addon
I've never owned this system, but just started emulating it. I love it more than I ever did Snes/Genesis, but I want the real hardware. I have to extract all the wav files out of the ISOs and can only fit one game on my flash drive to play it in my Wii. That process takes about 20 minutes to get it running. Some games don't work at all. I mostly like the Japanese games though. I mainly want it for the CD, I wont be buying Hucards.

-PC Engine Duo - $150-$200 plus shipping from Japan. That's about the cheapest you'd find. The equivalent USA model runs double that (either Duo or base+CDROM2+Super System card).Nullface wrote:I've never owned this system, but just started emulating it. -Why the heck would you be ignoring HuCards? Some of the best games are on HuCard; Star Soldier, Blazing Lasers, Air Zonk, Devil's Crush, Bomberman '94, Gradius, etc.
-How can you say you love it more than the SNES/Genesis when you just started emulating it? That makes no sense either.
-by the way, you'll burn out the system if you play back-ups on it most of the time. Reading CD-Rs is much harder on the laser. This is true for all CD-based systems, but the TG-16 is more sensitive than any other CD machine I can think of in this regard. Stick to original copies.

-Would be buying a flash card to hold all the roms
-It's been about a month and I would choose most of these games over any Genesis/Snes game.

Yeah, that usually scares most people off. Only the Neo Geo is pricier to get into out of the mainstream systems.Nullface wrote:-Instantly disinterested

Well, I would too as the PC Engine and Saturn are my favourite systems, but overall... that's just because I'm biased towards the underdogs. The SNES and Genesis libraries are both way better fleshed out overall.-It's been about a month and I would choose most of these games over any Genesis/Snes game.

Ignoring HuCard games would be a pretty big mistake for an upstart PCE collector.
