Wow! Just picked this game up for $3 today and I gotta say it was worth every penny.
The controls are a bit awkward and take some time to get used to. But once you figure them out.. wow! This one is a lot of fun. And I gotta say the graphics are pretty impressive for the PS1, too!
Anyone else like this game? I know it's available on the N64, as well

Re: Forsaken

I had the PC version to showcase the newest craze at the time; ie 3D graphic acceleration. It was a pretty game but the controls were hard unless you had a dual-axis gamepad, and most of us didn't back in 1997. Great soundtrack too.
Forsaken was one of Acclaim's better games, if they'd stuck to that level of quality they'd probably lasted much longer.

I always thought this was just a Descent rip off, and a vastly inferior one. Was I wrong?

Re: Forsaken
I had/have that game for N64. I had a ton of fun with it. If I remember correctly I think Forsaken took place in even tighter tunnels and chutes than Descent which made it slightly more difficult. Correct me if I'm wrong because the memory's not the best.
Re: Forsaken
I remember this being one of the first play station games I had as a kid and never getting to play it because it made me nautious.

Generally positive reviews, but I reckon going by legacy Forsaken didn't make much of a dent compared to the venerable Descent. So it was a clone, but a lot of Doom clones were very playable too.

Re: Forsaken
I have this on the N64, I was rather disappointed in it.
I just couldn't get into it really.

I'd say the level design isn't quite as good as Descent, but it does have more interesting boss fights.dsheinem wrote:I always thought this was just a Descent rip off, and a vastly inferior one. Was I wrong?

Re: Forsaken
To dsheinem.... It's a decent rip off with slightly different gameplay and levels... It has good music as well... From what I hear, it's a good multiplayer experience amongst former players,,,

Re: Forsaken
You're right on the money. But it's still a very fun game, especially for how cheap you can get it. And if you were a Descent fan, you probably played that game enough to be sick of it, right? Just think of it as new Descent levels.dsheinem wrote:I always thought this was just a Descent rip off, and a vastly inferior one. Was I wrong?
