Way to steal Sega's next Sonic game idea. Sonic: now with cybernetic implants and a werestache.

I didn't want him to use it per se, just seemed to have a beat/sega vibe to it similar to what he's going for.

I put an earlier tease about the original Racketboy Avatar representing the gamer. The eyes glossed over mesmerized deep in a game. Headphones isolating one involved playing a game. What is great is the original Avatar doesn't show a particular game being played by the Avatar, up to the viewer to imagine.

If the replacement above is supposed to represent us, a BIG VOTE NO! Also doesn't seem to justify representation of all the various franchises, has too much of Sega only character ring to it. Maybe the other suggestions of keeping just the iconic font as the Main logo?

Combine the originals!

Just a suggestion...do you think the website really even needs a mascot? The text at the top of every page "racketBOY" is pretty distinctive in itself - I associate that with the site more than your avatar. If you're looking to redo the look of the site, maybe just a new font for the title? (sorry I don't know anything about web design so I'm probably using the wrong termology)
This. I don't think you need a mascot. If anything, maybe consider a new logo/image to go along with the r a c k e t BOY image thats already there. Additionally, although I personally think it all looks fine as is - If you are really itching to redo some stuff maybe consider doing a redisign of the logo you already have with the Dave guy you like.
Niode wrote:Personally I think that the website could do with another name. That's just me, I understand that Racketboy was chosen since it was Nick's nickname and it seemed like a good choice at the time, but I feel that this website is way bigger than just one person now. Not to demean you personally, but I think that this website going through a rebrand is the absolute best course of action right now.
racketboy wrote: Yeah, I honestly wasn't expecting the site to be that popular when I started it, otherwise, I would have come up with a better name ;)

Kinda late to change now...
Don't ever change the website name. Seriously. You don't need some lame wannabe clever website name. Racketboy is a cool name because its unique, it became what it is today with that name - no reason to change it. It would destroy the unique branding that is already in place. It would be insulting to change it. This will always be Racketboy.

Personally, I dont think we need a mascot. But if you want to do it racket, lets get a male and a female one. I have a lead on making tshirts at a low cost on any color but black.
