Specifically 'real' platformers, as opposed to things like robot unicorn where the character constantly runs to the right and you just hit jump.
Has anyone managed good controls for a mario like platform game using the ipod's touchscreen?

honestly, i haven't played one that doesn't feel kinda clunky in the controls dept. i've heard hookchamp was pretty cool but i played the demo and the controls felt.. kinda clunky. maybe thats why there are so many of those "jump" style games.
Oh, come on, don't leave your uncle T-Bag hangin'!

I am developing a game or two for the IOS platforms. Could you tell me what you find clunky in the controls? I would like to make sure I get it right

Life is as good as your game!

Pizza Boy has really good controls, as does Pix'n Love Rush.

I think I just have a hard time getting used to invisible buttons / d-pads. when I stick to a game long enough I eventually get used to it.

What are the requirements for developing/releasing ios apps?

Although, it isn't a Mario like platformer, Hook Champ is fun.
Edit: onima is a good platformer (can't remember the name, I believe it was that)
