Death Smiles is coming to PAL

Post by Frizz.Meister »

Whilst browsing the web at work (yeah yeah i know) i came across a rumor that Deathsmiles was being released in Europe early 2011. Curious i researched it further and yes it is as confirmed by http://www.eurogamer.se

First Raiden fighters Aces (even though its been pushed back till Feburary for goodness knows why) and now Deathsmiles. Are shmups finally seeing pottential outside of Japan and the States?

I'm really happy for you; Europe always gets the shortest end of the stick in localizations, so the more, the merrier. :) Deathsmiles seems to have garnered a lot more sales than expected from North America, so Cave and other developers are starting to see non-Japanese markets as feasible places to release SHMUPs.

Is video game culture very minimal in Europe? They do in fact get everything last it seems.

No, it's as prolific as everywhere else. But that doesn't stop the fact that PAL gamers have been getting dicked around since forever.

Not at all. However you can sum it up with 3 things which is never a good thing; Call of Duty, Halo, GTA/Red dead redemption

Honestly thats all anyone plays, and its been this way since about 2008. Unless you count the DSi being the current fashion icon for 10-15 y/o girls. You should see the terrible adverts for it...

Actually, that description fits most of the Western gaming world.

Mega black label pack sounds interesting.

http://www.risingstargames.com/games/de ... x-360.html Suggests a winter release this year, which would be awesome. Also as its the games publisher i reckon it could well be accurate.
