clearing a dreamcast's internal memory
i kind of want to do it, but im not even sure exactly what the internal memory actually does. what are the pros and cons?
Why do you want to? The only reason I ever needed to was to play a new copy of phantasy star online. I forget the specifics, but the cd keys basically got assigned to your individual dreamcast and there were problems when you tried a new system or a new copy or something. Its been so long.
Again, why? Dream Explorer MIGHT do it for you, but I cant remember right now. It's worth having anyway as it's an amazing utility disc for your dreamcast.

Otherwise search on Underground Gamer. I know its on there somewhere, probably within another multi-utility disc.

Yes but there has been 'reports' of it corrupting saves, so i'd only do it if you REALLY need to. I can't remember who it was on this site who said about it corrupting his saves but thats at least one person i know of who's had that issue. I've never had the problem myself and i've done it on a 3rd party hybrid and 2 official vmus. You might be better off just getting a replacement vmu as they're really cheap now.
