I recently purchased a dreamcast system in box with all hookups, original packaging + plastic bags, etc. and it is a translucent blue colour, as is the included controller, modem and VMU. The box isn't anything special and the case of the console does not have a caution label on the underside. I have been hard-pressed to find information regarding a console like this, but I believe this was a limited edition Dreamcast available only online through Electronics Boutique back in the day. Supporting (and only) evidence: the 'Dreamcast Blue' entry in the table on this site, where the picture looks EXACTLY like my console - http://superclassicvideogames.com/Sega% ... 0main.html

Anyways, I am wondering if anyone can answer my questions:
1) Why is there no caution/info label on the bottom? Did some limited edition dreamcasts not have these labels?
2) Is this really 'limited' or were they common enough to not be too special?
3) Any idea on the date, or way to find this out? (unknown because of lack of label on the bottom)
Any info or ideas on this console is much appreciated. Just interested to know what exactly I have here. Thanks!

Hate to break it to you, but when I heard that, I automatically thought "replacement case". I know towards the later days of the dreamcast, and the start of the treamcast phase on ebay, lots of people were selling replacement cases for the DC. Either the system has been opened to mod it, or the original owner put it into a new case to resemble the limited edition DC.
I know I did that with my xbox, bought a replacement case that looks like the limited halo edition. As well as with my Wii, didn't want to shell out more cash for the black model

If you aren't having a good time, why are you playing?

I agree with the above post. I bought a replacement case off ebay not long ago pretty much identical to yours but in black. There was also no labels on the underside. Sorry but I wouldn't put too much hope in it being a limited edition.
I haven't slept for ten days, because that would be too long.

Hmm, no the Hello Kitty edition would have a cute little kitty head on the top - this one is just a plain NTSC dreamcast logo (red swirl). I wish, though!
Sounds like it's a replacement case... but no biggie I guess - didn't pay too much, it looks nice, and it actually works! For now.. Any way to make these things immortal?

EB didn't have anything special that I remember. That looks like one of the billion different colored semi-transparent replacement cases.
