If you read the thread that I linked, he explains it.
No explanation in that link nor the video in that thread. Would love to know how he did it so perfectly!

Its automotive base and clear coat. Painted with airbrush and spray gun. Clear coat sanded with 2500 grit sand paper and buffed out with 3 different buffing pads and 5 different polishing pastes. At the end it was waxed.
Add lots and lots of patience. Doing that much sanding and polishing is incredibly boring and tedious.
There are a couple of modifications I would love to make to my NES, but I don't think I'm currently capable. Pity, because I imagine they'd be pretty simple. I'd like to cut a hole in the top of the case, near the back, and permanently connect my Gyromite adaptor as a second cart slot for Famicom games, in a suitable position to plug an FDS adaptor on it if I want to, but with US games still loading in the front. The mod to get sound from all Japanese-only special memory mappers would need to go along with that. Then I want to have a hole in the side to connect Famicom accessories like the revolver light gun and the Famicom 3D system. I believe the connections for that still exist and are connected to controller port 2.
The only thing left would be to somehow get a working microphone for screaming at Pols Voice in the FDS version of Zelda
