Walk downstairs in the train station. It tells you in the cutscene.
LOL same thing happened to me because I didn't listen to the cutscenes.

Lol so I'm replaying Sonic Adventure 1 again to see how much of my praise is purely nostalgia.

less than 30 seconds into the first level, I go flying into the water by no fault of my own... Then a bit later whilst going round a loop, I randomly went flying and nearly died from no fault of my own again, but luckily I landed on solid ground. Then again, I died from no fault of my own due to a glitch or camera problem.

That said, I'm about half way through the Sonic levels, and I am rather enjoying it. I stand by what I said before, the level design is much better than that of SA2. It feels like they really tried to make it as the old original Sonic series as possible. Like flamepanther said, a lot of the levels are very reminiscent of levels seen in earlier Sonic games. Also there was less emphasis on just speed, unlike the later 3D Sonics (which I feel started with SA2), and had slower paced sections mixed with cool level design like the older Sonics.

The Adventure segments are definitely irritating though, and the game is definitely let down by glitchiness and camera issues, so the game obviously is far from perfect (like all 3D Sonic games, thus far), but I still feel it is the best 3D Sonic and better than SA2. That said, I'll try playing SA2 sometime soon and see how I really feel now (as it's been a good few years since I had played either).

I'm curious, what console are you playing it on?

Dreamcast.

But honestly, I doubt it's really that buggy, I was probably just unlucky, because I never remember it being that bad, and I didn't have any problems on any of the levels that have followed so far.

I think red mountain was the best level to keep the 2D feel in a 3D realm. Especially when you're in the cave area. There's not really any loops or anything down there, it just plays sort of like a high speed crash bandicoot or the more straight forward bowser levels in mario 64.

The casino stage sucks....I'm sorry but Casino Night Zone is one of my all time favorite sonic stages. And so much better than spring yard and night carnival zones.....am I a big nerd for knowing all Sonic Mega Drive zones by heart?
