Got Panzer Dragoon II today, played it, completed it.
Like it but it is very short.

I've been playing lots of Battle Garegga on the Saturn, and it is awesome. Not sure if I'd agree with the shmups.org folks that list it as the best shmup ever, but it is certainly one of the the best I've seen.
Plus, the game is good training. I am getting much better at learning how to spy tiny bullets.

I like Garegga a lot but you have to learn how to control rank though , they have some nice tuts on Shmups , some criticize it for it's hard to see bullets but that's Raizing for you .
I have the Saturn version but no Saturn anymore so I play it on Mame sometimes , I still think Armed Police Batrider is Raizing's best and hope to get the Arcade Kit sometime this week .

Bought Gundemonium Collection on PSN because it was cheap and I was curious.
It's a three-game pack, consisting of Gundemonium Recollection, GundeadliGne and Hitogata Happa.
So far the horizontal ones (the first two) annoy me. The vertical one is quite fun. Given how cheap it was, I'm not terribly disappointed. They shit all over some of the shooters that have appeared to date on both PSN and XBLA.
Other than that, E.S.P. Galuda (PS2 version) is in the candy cab at the moment, and getting a bit of a bash again.

here as well. deathsmiles has a certain "fun" about it that other shooters don't quite capture. the only other shooter that gives off the same vibe is probably progear, for me.Bradtemple87 wrote:Deathsmiles is still sucking me in, it feels familiar but refreshing
also been enjoying raiden fighters jet. wonderfully chaotic!
